Spring Art Spectacular
This month the library will be hosting the art department’s Spring Art Spectacular . Mr. Washington and Ms. Torres are very proud of the work their students have done and they want to show case it for all the world to see.
The show will feature one work for each student enrolled in the beginning, intermediate and advanced art classes, that should be about 300 students, give or take a few.
Both teachers feel that the show is a great way to improve student self-image. The students are encouraged to create works of art that they feel good about. The kids have worked very hard all year. In fact Ms. Torres and Mr. Washington think these are some of the best classes over all.
South students have participated in two other art shows. Bakersfield College held their Panorama Invitational for seniors and the Kern Credit Union just finished an exhibition that included South High. In May the Kern High School District will be hosting the annual Senior Show .
The show begins April 10th and runs until April 30. Be sure to come by the library any day from 7:15 until 3:15 to view the show.
There will be a formal reception for the artists on April 10th from 5:30 pm until 7:00 pm.
